I know there hasn’t been many posts lately and I do apologise for that, especially for you guys that check the site every day. If it was up to me I’d do this full time and post up stuff for you guys daily. Believe me when I say I have 3 very impressive builds to show you this month, but you’ll just have to be patient. These builds are some of the best I have been waiting-on to feature, so you won’t be disappointed.
But for now, I’d like to show you something that everybody loves, a garage build. One bit of consistent feedback that I get from readers is that they want to see more garage builds, so here’s one that’ll make your eyes pop.
This isn’t your ordinary garage, nor is it built in your ordinary garage location (next to your house). This particular “car hole” as Moe Syzlack would call it, is built in the AutoMotorplex in Minneapolis. “Whats that?” I hear you say. Well it’s a large estate where gear-heads can build their massive dream garages collectively, creating a community of epic car dwellings. Think of it as a small city where instead of buildings, you have garages. Sound like heaven to you? Yeah, me too!
Just wait ’till you see this example, complete will a second-level chill area. I’ll stop blabbering so you can see for yourself and get the same serious case of green-eye syndrome that I just contracted.
I’m guessing you’ll want to read the full thread for yourself, so head to

Oh sick! A lot like that should be built in Los Angeles for real.
OMG…that is very nice!
Very cool concept.
man that nicer then my house! im so going to make one
AWSOME!
My perfect place to life ! it missing a huge king size bed ! :-p
nice, perfect place to live at…hell if you move all the cars outside, you could have gokart races inside!
Great place to be. Actually we although built a lounge to our place
I’ve been inside this specific unit. To say it’s badass is an understatement. The last time I was in there, the owner had a Yenko Camaro up on the lift. It was so clean underneath, you could eat off of it.
Sick. Can someone tell me the brand (and where to buy) of storage cabinets/workplace gear they installed? thx
Have you checked out Garage Style Magazine yet? This is year six for our quarterly publication about all-things-garage and the people who own them. Garage euphoria…the average Joe garage to the 200-car collection garage.
Needs a bedroom upstairs so you don’t always have to go home. A little more square footage to the second floor is all you need to make that happen.
i like that will be cool 4 my someday car collection I love it
Its great to see workshops being built. Its like comparing passenger cars to trucks. Both are useful, but one is only for moving people. The other is for much more. Here we potentially have a space for doing much more than just sheltering people.
But this space bugs me a bit. It relies heavily on artificial lighting, even the living area. And it seems like its really not for fabrication – just for collecting. Anyone who fabs would be nervous about sending all the dust and fumes up to the living space, which will get covered in that stuff. And, of course, there’s no beds. Thats probably because the area is zoned industrial, and there is no municipal permission for residences.
It is beautiful, did you paint the wood with fireproof paint? I wondered.
ITS very nice’ Is there one in illinois ? in the north close to lake forest/libertyville ill.
