I’m a member of many different forums, but I’m not much of a poster. JDM Style Tuning was one of the first forums that I really got involved in, posting regularly and attending meets. While I don’t post there much these days, I still like to read the forum almost daily and make the odd post every now and then. There are a number of great builds on the forum, so I thought I’d do a little spotlight on some of my favourites in no particular order. Please note, this is not a “best of”, it’s just the ones that tickle my fancy. There’s a few builds to get through, so I’ll split them up over a few different posts over the next couple of months in between regular build features.
Okay, the Speedhunters posts are done and dusted for another year, hopefully I’ve picked up some new readers with the increased exposure so let’s get back to business and feature some builds. Romas emailed me his Trueno build only a couple of days ago, hailing all the way from Lithuania. The AE86 was already modified when it was shipped over from Japan, but it was quickly torn down and rebuilt to his own standards, which meant fitting a 4AGTE and some S13 suspension bits, including the IRS rear end.
Here’s a great DIY ground-up build of a neat little JDM styled KE70 Corolla, complete with 4AGE power. I admire people who do ground-up builds at home without any major help from workshops. I’d love to do this one day to a 2-door USDM 510 shell, making everything clean and as-new from top to bottom.
Thanks to Sebatian for the submit.
Check out this cool video I found on Puregroove. I guess it’s one way to turn a sedan into a wagon!
I stumbled across some really sweet pictures taken by yosi from S1 Films Photography that he posted on the NWP4LIFE forums. Looked like an awesome meet…
Up north in the sunshine state of Queensland, Australia, Grant has built one of the sweetest looking AE71 Corollas to grace the pages of many a car site on the internet, even going as far as getting a feature on Speedhunters. Not only does it look the part, but it gets thrashed around race tracks regularly.
Most AE71s tend to be modified for power, handling, and drifting abilities first and foremost without paying attention to the bodywork, but this one has all the bases covered.
