Iggy from Datnut is a fellow Aussie who also has an FJ20 Datsun 1600/510 project car. When I saw this BRE inspired 510 build over on his blog, I had to feature it. Whats not to love about a Datsun build?

Hi,
This is our car, I am pleased you enjoy it.
We finished the restoration at the end of 2007 and have had 2 successful seasons of racing in the historic class.
If you are interested we uploaded a couple of short videos on youtube of a test session at Levels Raceway, Timaru, NZ.

Hi Richard, thanks for the follow-up, love the car. Good to see a datto out on the track being used to it’s full potential.
Just a few questions:
1) Whats the setup from where the oil filter usually sits and the return pipe from there back up to the rocker cover? I haven’t seen that setup before!
2) What dizzy and spark plug leads are you using?
3) Where can I buy those 2 black (with white stripes) blocking plates that fit to the front of the cylinder head. They look like they have “racing”? written on them.
4) What fuel regulator do you use? I use a petrol king fuel saver feeding twin 45mm webers through an 8mm rail.
Cheers
