2JZ DeLorean

No need for a flux capacitor here! It seems that people will put a 2JZ into just about anything, even collectibles. Chances are you’ll see this build everywhere over the next couple of weeks, I spotted it on a post by Stanley Ku on The Real JDM but an anonymous Build Threads reader also submitted it here, so thank you whoever you are.

On with the show…

Low Tide Larry Kustom Triumph

I love this style of custom motorcycle. I think they possess character and charisma far beyond that of Japanese sports bikes or billion-dollar choppers. If anyone knows of any cool build threads for bikes like this, please let me know. This particular example was found on the Jockey Journal. I really need to read up on them a bit more to learn about the different styles and categories, maybe then I can write up a decent description of the next build as opposed to this vague & dismal effort!

Aluminium Hand Built Hot Rod

Here’s one for the metal-heads. The story behind this hand built masterpiece starts with a piece of artwork, and finishes the same way. The drawing pictured below was purchased at a car show, then a few months later the decision was made to build the car in real life out of aluminum. I know I sound repetitive when I utter words such as “craftsmanship”, “quality” and “second to none”, but this build really is all that and more. The pictures speak for themselves.

V10 BMW E30 M3

I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say a bad word about E30 M3’s. Maybe I’m not listening hard enough, or maybe they’re just one of those cars that are commonly lusted the world over. I just stumbled across this awesome build on VWvortex. The car not only receives an engine swap, but also new subframes and suspension pick-up points, essentially making it a whole chassis swap with only the appearance of the original shell remaining.

Truckasaurus FC RX7 Pickup

Japanese hatches such as the FC RX7 and S13 180SX make great candidates for pickup conversions, as we’ve seen before in Japan with a few drift cars getting the chop.

Earl has created his own spin on the concept with this 2nd Gen RX7, come and see it get built and continually evolve.

Opel Kadett + S2000

I found this build while browsing Oldschool.co.nz so a big thanks to those guys first up.

The builder behind this Kadett has taken a similar approach to the Mad Minor project that was previously featured, essentially taking two uni-body cars and combining the body from one with the chassis from the other.

Nissan Pao

I can’t explain why, but I’ve always loved these little cars. I think its the quirky retro styling that does it for me, and the fact that they look so cool when modified. I was Googling “Nissan Pao” when I came across this website showing the progression of a Pao being smoothed, painted and dropped. The end result looks fantastic…

S15.3 RB30 Supercharged

The generous parts interchangeability offered to enthusiasts by Nissan is a beautiful thing, from the old Datsun days to the cars of the present, it’s as if the bean-counters at head office have always secretly been catering to the people who love to modify by transforming the local spare parts counter into a virtual buffet.

Here we have a true diverse mix of the Nissan bloodline. Take one S15 Silvia, the front bodywork from a 180SX, an RB30 bottom-end/RB26 head, a supercharger, stir vigorously, and this is what you get…
