A highly desirable car built to only the highest of standards, this 240Z has had no expense spared during its reincarnation. Chesse submitted this build while the car was still in it’s assembly stage, but now it’s completely finished so we can enjoy the full journey of the cars restoration.

Oh man, I’m scared to even figure out how long ago this was submitted. It takes me a while to get through all the submissions, so if you email me a build and it doesn’t get posted straight away, don’t fret! This is another great build submitted by Cereal, a loyal reader who has emailed me some of the best projects to grace this site.
If you like in-depth builds and have the time to sit down and read through a comprehensive and well-documented website, you’ll appreciate this one. To give you a rough outline, it’s a H22A powered, home built car with a carbon fiber body based on an original Mini.
One thing I love more than reading about a good build is actually watching one, my numerous seasons of Rides & Overhaulin’ DVDs at home are proof to that, not to mention the hours worth of Wheeler Dealers I’ve watched on Youtube! Pictures are great, but video is better, so naturally I was excited to see that Formula Drift driver Luke Lonberger is video-documenting the build of his 2011 car, a C6 Corvette. I thought I’d better have something interesting for you guys to kick off the new year, so let’s get the ball rolling. It’s another one of those builds that I’ve had my eye on for a while, but it wasn’t until it was emailed to me by Grant that it powered itself back into my line of sight. What we’re looking at here is a 2nd gen Honda CRX with an S2000-sourced F20C stuffed in the engine bay with a turbo hanging off the side, to be powering the rear wheels in the not too distant future.
Not enough RWD-converted Honda action for you? Then check out the mid-engined RWD DC2 Integra, and the AWD twin-engined Del Sol.
Or, if F20C’s are more your thing, there’s the TA22 Celica, ’66 Sunbeam Minx, and Opel Kadett, all powered by Hondas 92.1kw per liter engine.

I’ve seen pictures of a few of these coupe creations before, I think they look great and I love the initiative people take to build something that VW didn’t offer. John emailed me two builds that he has personally worked on, a MKIII and a MKIV. Basically what happens is you take a Jetta/Vento/Bora sedan, use the longer doors from a 2-door Golf hatch, move the b-pillar backwards to suit the new doors, then fill in the gap between the door and the rear quarter panel. Yeah, I made it sound really easy, didn’t I? Hit the build threads after the jump to see the work involved.
I should be playing GT5 right now, but it’s been a bit too long since the last post for my liking, and I hate keeping you guys waiting. If you remember about 6 months ago I made two separate posts about some Miura builds that I had found after searching around the ‘net. Well, I still haven’t shaken that Miura obsession so another quick Google search led me to this replica build. It might not be the real thing, but you’ll be impressed when you see how much hard work the builders have put into this Fiero based replication, with plenty of attention given to the fiberglass body to ensure it fits perfectly over the beefed up framework. In my opinion all it needs is some more authentic wheels to compliment the quality in which the build was executed. Now, let me get back to GT5, because it’s the only way I’m going to get a Miura of my own!

Do you follow Nigel’s blog, Engineered to Slide? Well you should, he’s the crazy DIY fabricator behind two awesome S13 Nissan builds, one of which was part of the starting line-up of posts I made when this blog debuted. He’s just started a new project which I think you’ll be interested in, a hollowed-out Toyota Hilux ute/pickup being built around a custom chassis with a drive-line and suspension setup donated from an S15 Nissan Silvia. I’m very excited about this build because I know from Nigel’s previous work that it’s going to be finished, and finished to a high standard, this guy doesn’t muck around! Make sure you keep up with the progress by following the updates on his blog, I’ll be sure to post another update here as the build progresses further.
