1/4 Scale running V8 engine

EDIT: There are a lot of comments and emails asking me about pricing and availability of these engines. I have absolutely no affiliation with them at all, nor do I know how to get one or if they are even able to purchased. If you would like more information, you will have to follow the build thread and contact the owner/builder through the forum. Thank you.

For the last scale build I featured, I mentioned how it stepped things up from the one featured previous to that. We went from a completely plastic and resin model to one with milled aluminium and brass parts. Well here we are again, in the realm of small scale building, and at the risk of sounding repetitive I’m going to tell you that this one steps it up another notch from the last one. Well, “a” notch probably doesn’t sum it up quite adequately, when we’re talking about a complete RUNNING 1/4 scale V8 with fuel injection. Make sure you see the video at the bottom of the post. Simply amazing, and I can’t wait to see the builders next project, a scale V10.

Aluminium ’71 Cuda Scale Model

The last scale model I featured was the insanely detailed scratch-built XE Falcon, but we’re going to go one step further this time. This scale model, instead of using plastic and resin, is actually built using aluminium and brass using the a mill. In the words of Bart Simpson; “fellow students, prepare to be dazzled!”

Scratch-built 1:25 scale XE Ford Falcon

Skill and patience, that’s all I have to say about this build. The mastermind behind this completely custom-made 1:25 scale model has bucket-loads of both, and puts it all to good use, recreating the car he was carted around in as a kid. It looks like we have something in common, as my parents used to drive me around in an XD Falcon, one model before the XE. Although, if I was to re-create one of the cars from my childhood, it would definitely be the mustard Datsun 1200 my dad used to own. Getting back on topic, you just have to see the way this model is created, all the details are freakishly spot-on, you’ll be blown away.

1:10 Hilux RC build

This hand-made Hilux is the third scaled-down build I’ve featured here, but this one differs slightly from the others. While it’s still a 1:10 RC car, this one doesn’t limit itself to plastic materials and resin, the builder has gone to the extreme effort of making his own metal panels from hand-made wooden bucks. There’s so much detail in this awesome little rock crawler, I don’t know where to begin.

1:10 Scale sunRISE AE86 RC Car

Here’s a build thread on a smaller scale, literally! I’ve gotten a few hits in the past from OneTen.co.za so I hope they get a kick out of seeing this build here. Philchrome wanted to create a 1:10 scale replica of the sunRISE AE86 drift car, but instead of stopping at paint & decals, he went 10 steps further and created an engine bay and interior too. This is taking RC car building to the next level, just look at all the little details.
